The Studio
Historical Consulting for Fiction Creators
You don’t just want to write history. You want to build a world people never forget.
The worlds that stay with us — Middle-earth, Narnia, Westeros — don’t just have good stories. They have weight. Texture. The feeling that somewhere, beneath the fiction, something real is breathing.
That weight comes from the ground up. From knowing how people actually lived, moved, thought, and built. From understanding that history is not a backdrop. It is the foundation your entire world stands on.
In The Studio, we work one-on-one. Closely. Seriously. I bring the archaeological method to your creative process. Not to police your facts, but to give your imagination something solid to push against.
This is for you if:
You’re writing historical fiction, epic fantasy with historical roots, or a historically grounded graphic novel
You’re developing a video game set in a real historical period
You keep second-guessing your research and don’t know when it’s “enough”
You want your readers to dive into your world and never want to leave
This is not for you if:
You want someone to just proofread your manuscript
You’re not ready to think deeply about your world and your story
You want quick fixes instead of real craft
Services
The Single Session
Historical Consultation — 60 minutes - 105$
One focused, high-intensity session built entirely around your project.
We go deep into one specific area: historical accuracy review, world-building gaps, research strategy, character grounding, or timeline structure. You come with your questions and your material. You leave with a clear, concrete direction and the archaeological lens to keep moving forward on your own.
What we cover in one session:
Identifying the historical gaps that will break your reader’s immersion
Pinpointing what to research, where to find it, and how to use it creatively
Reviewing your world-building for historical coherence and sensory texture
Discussing your characters as real historical people. How they would think, move, and speak
What you walk away with: A session summary with specific action points, source recommendations, and one clear next step for your project.
This session is right for you if you’re in the early or middle stages of a project and need expert direction without a long commitment.

The Monthly Collaboration
1-Month Project Partnership 380$/month — 4 spots only
One month of close, focused collaboration on your project. This is not a course. This is not a workshop. This is real working partnership between you and an archaeologist-writer who is fully invested in what you’re building.
What’s included:
4 x 60-minute weekly sessions
Async support between sessions via email — questions, materials, research doubts
Historical accuracy review of your pages, chapters, or game design documents as you produce them
World-building development: geography, daily life, material culture, social structures, belief systems
Research methodology: I teach you how to think like an archaeologist so you can research independently and confidently
What you walk away with: A historically grounded project with real momentum — and the research skills to keep building without me.
This is for writers and developers who are actively working on a project and need consistent, expert partnership over a full month to push it to the next level.
Only 4 spots available at any time. When they’re full, they’re full.
The Deep Collaboration
2-Month Project Partnership 630$ — 2 spots only
This is the most intensive work I offer. Two months, two people, full commitment.
For writers building complex historical worlds — epic historical fantasy, multi-arc graphic novels, large-scale historical fiction — or game developers building an entire historically grounded game world. Projects that are big, ambitious, and deserve serious attention.
What’s included — everything in the Monthly Collaboration, plus:
Extended world-building across the full arc of your project
Character development through the archaeological lens. Who these people are as products of their time, culture, and material world
Narrative structure review with historical coherence in mind
A final written report: your world’s historical foundation document, which you keep and use for the entire life of your project
What you walk away with: Not just a better draft. A complete historical foundation for your world. Something you can return to every time you write a new chapter, design a new level, or pitch your project to a publisher or studio.
This is for serious creators with ambitious projects who are ready to go all the way.
Only 2 spots available at any time. This is intentionally rare.
What we can work on
Historical fiction in any period — ancient, medieval, early modern. Fantasy and horror with real historical or mythological roots. Mystery set in historical contexts. Narrative video games and RPGs. Graphic novels. Dialect, voice, and historical speech. Cultural accuracy and sensitivity for historical settings. Worldbuilding logic and internal consistency.
How it works
It’s simple. You pick your service and book a time. We meet (via Google Meet or Zoom). You bring your project, your questions, your stuck points. I bring the history, the research instincts, and seventeen years of thinking like an archaeologist.
You leave with what you came for and usually a few things you didn’t know you needed.
Ready to start?
Whether you have one question or a whole world to build, there’s a place for your project here.
A Note on how I work
I don’t just give you a list of historical facts to copy into your manuscript. I teach you to think like an archaeologist. To look at a period not as a collection of dates and events, but as a living world of people, objects, spaces, and stories. That shift in thinking is what separates historical fiction that readers forget from historical fiction that readers remember for the rest of their lives.
Your world deserves to be remembered.
